Attendance Office

Every School Day Counts

Report an Absence

To ensure your child's absence is properly documented, please complete the School Absence Note form in its entirety and upload any required supporting documentation at absence.nisdtx.org. Make sure to use an email address that is verifiable in eSchool, as this will be used for communication. If additional documentation is needed or incorrect documentation is submitted, promptly respond to any follow-up emails and upload the correct information. Once your submission is received, you will receive an email confirmation acknowledging that the School Absence Note has been successfully submitted.

Report an Absence

If there is a discrepancy in the attendance, the student should speak to the teacher to resolve this issue. The attendance office cannot change a teacher's attendance without receiving something in writing from the teacher.

If the student was absent, we need a note from parent or doctor. Otherwise, it will stay in the system as Unexcused, even if you personally picked them up from school or called to advise about the absence.

As stated in our Student Handbook and Code of Conduct, family vacations, visits, and personal situations are not excusable absences or extenuating circumstances. These absences will be counted as unexcused absences regardless of the number of days missed.

Attendance records may be checked online in the Home Access Center.
