NISD Book Brawl Competition

Welcome to our Tenth Annual NISD Middle School Book Brawl Competition, open to all students in grades 6-8. The Book Brawl is a reading incentive program designed to improve reading comprehension and enthusiasm for reading by using a fun and unique competition format.  Participants are given a reading list of eight books and challenged to read those books. Students form teams of their choosing and compete against each other to determine their knowledge and understanding of the books.

Each year’s books were carefully selected by Northwest ISD Middle School Library Media Specialists and include a variety of genres, reading levels, and themes.  All Book Brawl book selections are available for check out through the school library so there is no cost to participate.  If students wish to purchase copies of the books, that is their choice. The following titles have been selected for the 2024-2025 competition. For book covers and descriptions, see this Genially presentation.
